Bukka Hut Specifies Who Owns the Brand (Read Details)

The Board, Management, and Staff of Bukka Hut have pleaded with media outlets to stop publishing erroneous and unconfirmed information about who owns the restaurant in Lagos.

Following the unfortunate transition of Mr. Olaolu Martins, who was an initial investor and a minority shareholder in Bukka Hut, the company said it had no choice but to address the egregious misrepresentation of verifiable facts making the rounds on various social media platforms. The statement was signed by Mr. Rasheed Jaiyeola, the company’s founder and CEO.

The business stated that Jaiyeola is the sole owner and operator of Bukka Hut, with assistance from a senior management team. Jaiyeola and his family are also the company’s principal shareholders.

While he was merely a devoted fan of the company who was not involved in its day-to-day operations, media stories had mainly implied that the late Olaolu, who passed through transition on Tuesday, was the founder and owner of Bukka Hut.

The declaration reads:
“The Board of Directors, Management, and Employees of Bukka Hut continue to express their sorrow over the untimely passing of Mr. Olaolu Martins, a founding investor and a minority shareholder in the company.

Although Olaolu was not actively involved in running Bukka Hut on a daily basis, he was a cherished supporter of the company and will be sadly missed by all employees and management. We ask for the courage and resilience to endure this terrible loss.

“As we struggle to accept the truth of Olaolu’s untimely death, it is regrettable that we are also forced to face the egregious fabrication of provable facts that is currently going viral on numerous social media platforms.”

The declaration added that:
“Rasheed Jaiyeola founded Bukka Hut, which he expanded from one store in August 2011 to 24 shops today. He also serves as its CEO and is a majority shareholder (together with his family). Rasheed Jaiyeola is the sole owner and operator of the Bukka Hut company, with assistance from the senior management group.

“While we humbly request that the public respect the privacy of the Martins family at this extremely trying time, we also urge all media platforms to refrain from sharing unsubstantiated and erroneous information,” the statement continued.
