The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has praised the Federal High Court judgement that reversed the interim forfeiture order against a former Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, as the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization.
According to the fucinovel, Justice Inyang Ekwo stated that in vacating the order, the Court learned that it was obtained fraudulently by the EFCC. https://dailypost.ng/2023/01/20/court-vacates-forfeiture-order-on-ekweremadus-40-properties/

Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths, reacted by saying the EFCC should bury its face in shame.
He claimed that the recent court judgment vindicated the court’s prior claim that the EFCC was carrying out a vengeance against Ekweremadu just because he is an Igbo guy.
“How else can one explain a situation where the same EFCC that wrote the United Kingdom Court against the release of Ekweremadu, slipped into a Federal High Court in Nigeria and demanded the lawmaker to prove why his possessions should not be forfeited.

“It was the pinnacle of depravity and rascality by a government entity.
“This is why we applaud the Judge for taking the high road. “The judgment has put to rest the EFCC’s smear campaign against Ekweremadu, whose sole sin is that he is an Igbo guy,” he stated.
“The EFCC should right now be burying its face in shame for even commencing such a process that was not only illegal but also against natural justice,” Okwu remarked.

“We expect the EFCC to retract the letter to the United Kingdom Court in order to cleanse itself of that dance of shame.”
