I knew Arsenal would compete for the title under Guardiola – Arteta

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has stated that battling for the Premier League title with his former boss Pep Guardiola and Manchester City was unavoidable.

Before acquiring the job at the Emirates, Arteta worked as Guardiola’s assistant for nearly three years.

They won two Premier League crowns, one FA Cup, and two league cups together.

This season, though, Arteta has emerged as the most credible challenger to City’s fifth title in six years.

“This is unusual. We collaborated for several years.

“We’ve had wonderful adventures together. We have a very particular relationship, and meeting that type of person is always weird.

“But I knew that was going to be the case the day I made the decision [to quit Manchester City and join Arsenal],” Arteta remarked.
