The destruction of Gideon Aloba’s campaign billboards has been attributed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ijesaland.
For the Ijesa South Federal Constituency in the federal elections of 2023, Aloba is the Labour Party’s nominee.

Aloba asserted that sponsors who are PDP members have been systematically attacking his campaign posters throughout the four local governments of Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakunmosa East, and Atakunmosa West.
The candidate for the House of Representatives denounced the local politics of violence, intimidation, and destruction.
He lamented the destruction of seven of his campaign billboards by PDP supporters between Thursday night and Friday morning.

“Two of my billboards in Ilesa East, two more in Atakunmosa West, and one in Atakunmosa East local governments were demolished by PDP supporters. At Ifewara and Igangan, two of my little billboards were also destroyed.
A few months ago, PDP thugs attacked Rabiu Ismaila, one of my supporters, and a few other Labour Party members in the villages of Owode, Igangan, and Olopon. We called the police about it, but nothing has been done as of yet,” he stated.

The unexpected revival of violence in the State, according to the Osun State Government, is related to the presence of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, according to a statement made by Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Committee in Osun was officially launched in Osogbo by Oyetola, the committee’s chairman, in advance of the 2023 Presidential election.
In response, Familusi Oladele Isaiah, the media director for the PDP’s Ijesa South Federal Constituency, refuted the accusations in a phone conversation with fucinovel.
It is a huge lie from the depths of hell, he said. A party that can achieve that is not the PDP. Who, by the way, is familiar with him throughout Ijesa South?
“As I’m talking with you, we have reports that he is negotiating with the APC. He is being threatened by the APC to form an alliance with them because they are aware that as the ruling party, the PDP is in a better position to win all the tickets in Ijesa South.
“Whatever has happened to him is a matter of agreement between him and the APC. It is not our problem.”
