The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, has claimed that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is dying, and that his health is deteriorating.
The assertion was made for the umpteenth time by IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, in reaction to a remark by an operator of the Department of State Services, DSS, that the news regarding Kanu’s worsening health was political.

A DSS operative denied that the secret police was poisoning Kanu while he was in their custody.
“The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership and command of Mazi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu, the Prophet, wishes to draw the attention of the public to the press release from Nigeria DSS dismissing our leader, Mazi Nnamdi KANU, and labeling IPOB’s press releases as political statements,” Powerful said in a statement.
“We want to remind DSS and the public that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s worsening health is factual and can’t be considered a political statement. The Nigerian government and her secret police, the DSS, are well aware that Mazi Nnamdi KANU’s health is failing him as a result of their poisoning, denial of sufficient medication for his known disease, and torture by hunger while he is being kept in solitary confinement by the DSS.

“We shall not be diverted by the rants included in the DSS press statement published through anonymous persons attempting to belittle and play down the terrible health condition of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra. This is done to divert attention away from the alarm that has been raised about their plan to methodically and covertly kill our leader. The Nigerian government should be aware that IPOB has no interest in Nigerian politics by now. The government can play politics with everything, but not with our leader’s life.”
The secret police have been responsible with explaining to Nigerians why Kanu has been denied “access to a doctor since the second week of December 2022.”
He was perplexed as to why Kanu was not permitted to take his medications as prescribed.

“It is on record that Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu KANU is severely sick and dying slowly in DSS solitary detention. If something happens to him, IPOB members globally and Ndigbo will not accept any explanation,” he continued.
