The Dutsen Tanshi Majlis Foundation Bauchi, a group of supporters of well-known Islamic cleric Dr. Idris Abdul’aziz, has denied issuing the state government with a reported notification that threatens to use the law to compel the release of their leader.
According to furucinovel, the troubled cleric was sentenced to state prison for “contempt of court” by the High Court of Islamic Law No. 1 in Bauchi.

The charges against Abdul’aziz include blasphemy and inciting a public disruption of the peace. Because he neglected to show up in court, a bench warrant had been issued earlier.
His supporters, however, claimed that the posters appealing for his release did not originate from the organization in a statement that was signed and made accessible to journalists on Tuesday by their leader Malam Yau.
“This is an emergency message to reprimand the Malam students for some messages perpetrated by some unknown persons threatening that if Dr. Imam Idris is not immediately released, they will seize control of the law.”Therefore, we want to stress that this is not from us and that we are unaware of it, the statement said.

“We are calling on all Muslims that follow the teachings of the Qur’an and the Hadith and the righteous path to continue to be law-abiding, as efforts are still being made to ensure the matter is settled legally,” the statement continued.
Malam Yau stated that the group’s committee members alone have the authority to make any statements or take a position about the ongoing judicial proceedings against their leader.
