The Nice prosecutor told AFP on Friday that Christophe Galtier, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, and his son were both detained for interrogation as part of an investigation into alleged prejudice.
Following allegations that Galtier made racist and Islamophobic remarks towards players while serving as the head coach of Nice in the 2021–2022 season, an investigation was opened in April.
The prosecutor stated that a statement would be released later on Friday with additional details regarding Galtier’s arrest and his son.
Galtier is expected to lose his job as a result of the recent controversy, but PSG has not yet spoken on the subject.
Galtier’s replacement at PSG has been rumored to be former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique.
