The National Youth Service Corps has urged all stakeholders to support the program as it works to transform Nigerian graduates for the benefit of the country.

Additionally, it urged State Governments to establish appropriate Orientation Camps inside their borders, noting that the Camp serves as Corps members’ initial point of contact and leaves a lasting impression of their respective states.

The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed, made this announcement during a welcome speech at the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course Workshop, which had the theme “Repositioning the NYSC Orientation Course in the Post-Golden Jubilee Era for Effective National Service” and was held in Kaduna.

He stated that in order to guarantee the success of the 2023 Batch “B” Orientation Course, the Scheme is closely collaborating with important stakeholders.

General Ahmed acknowledged the contributions made by the Kaduna State Government to the success of NYSC operations but pleaded for the establishment of “a more befitting Orientation Camp for the State because of its implications for the welfare of participants and the overall success of the Orientation Course”.

He continued by saying that the workshop would produce comprehensive decisions on policy guidelines for the successful execution of the 2023 Batch “B” operation.

In his opening remarks, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Ahmed Wada Ikaka, reassured parents, other stakeholders, and potential corps members that the upcoming exercise would be carried out with greater dedication.

In a separate speech, the governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, praised the Scheme for its outstanding accomplishments and significant contributions to national development since its beginning more than fifty years ago.

The Pre-Orientation Workshop is a venue where important representatives from the NYSC and its partner organizations come together to discuss how prior exercises were conducted in order to develop strategies for better performance.
