The shanties in Jahi District were built on a proposed arterial corridor that started from Nnamdi Azikiwe Ring Road, according to Galadima.

Before the major road opens, he stated that the department would communicate with the appropriate parties about what has to be done in the area.

The director continued by saying that the government has repeatedly warned settlers not to build shanties in prohibited areas.
