Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the most recent general elections, has praised David Hundeyin, a Nigerian investigative journalist.
On the allegation that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu submitted phony school records to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, during the election, Atiku and Hundeyin concur.

The journalist had argued that Tinubu lacked the qualifications to vie for the position of the nation’s most important citizen before the election.
During his Thursday world news conference in Abuja, Atiku praised Hundeyin, Nigerian media, and young people for putting the country above all else.
Thomas Jefferson, a former president of the United States, famously stated, “If I had to choose between newspapers without government and government without newspapers, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose the latter.”

“Journalists have maintained eternal vigilance by bridging the gap and stepping in when other branches of government have failed, from uncovering the Watergate crisis to dismantling the questionable certificates of politicians.
For these reasons, David Hundeyin, an independent journalist, deserves praise. His exceptional work, as well as that of many other young people like him, has inspired many people.
“Special gratitude must go out to the millions of young people in Nigeria, including citizen journalists, who keep spreading the truth online even when no one is paying attention. Indeed, perpetual vigilance is the price of liberty.

“This gives me faith that we have honorable allies in the fight to reclaim the nation we call home,” the speaker said.
