As a response to the unprecedented slaughter of Israeli civilians at the hands of the Islamist militant organization Hamas, the German Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius, has promised his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant, further support.
Germany gave Israel permission on Wednesday evening to use two of its Heron TP combat drones in Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip. These attacks were carried out by Israel.

An Israeli request to employ unmanned aerial vehicles in the fight against the Islamist group Hamas has been granted, according to an announcement made by the German Ministry of Defense (Bundesministerium der Verteidigung).
The Bundeswehr, which is Germany’s armed forces, is currently leasing five of these drones from an Israeli arms manufacturer that is responsible for their production.
Two of the planes are now located in Israel, which is also the location where German personnel are receiving training to operate them.

According to a report in the German news magazine Der Spiegel, Israel has halted the training of German pilots while they reposition the drones in their military operations.
Earlier on Wednesday, Pistorius was speaking on the sidelines of a conference of NATO defense ministers. He stated that if the situation became more dire, Israel would communicate with its allies.
He stated that Germany is ready to assist in any way, including the delivery of humanitarian aid, if Israel makes the request.

Previously, Israeli authorities had stated that they “do not need support of a military or technical nature,” according to what Pistorius said.
“It is about political support,” he said as an additional comment.
On Saturday, Hamas, the terrorist organization that controls Gaza’s government, carried out a large-scale strike against Israel.
As a response, Israel has been launching continuous airstrikes against the densely populated coastal enclave.
There have been more than 1,000 fatalities on both sides of the conflict. (NAN)
