The Supreme Court has finally set Thursday, October 26, as the day for the delivery of final judgments in the two remaining cases contesting the validity or otherwise of President Bola Tinubu’s declaration as the victor of the 2015 presidential election.

They are petitions submitted by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Peter Gregory Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Dr Awemeri Festus Akande, the Supreme Court’s Director of Press and Information, confirmed the situation on Wednesday.

He stated that suitable security measures have been put in place to prevent security breaches both inside and outside the courthouse.

On Monday, a seven-member panel of Justices of the Court led by Justice John Inyang Okoro heard closing arguments from lawyers representing petitioners.

Following that, the Justices reserved their decisions.
