Governor Otti outlines his decision to manage Abia from home

Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has given an explanation for why he runs his office from home rather than the state capitol.

He claims that in order to control the cost of governance, he decided to work from home temporarily.

Otti made this statement over the weekend when Pastor Ted Wilson, the global leadership of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, paid him a visit in honor of the organization’s centennial.

“Managing the cost of governance is the first step toward good governance,” claims Otti. If you’re not careful, governing government instead of managing the governed may take up too many of the scarce resources.

“We discovered that we would need to spend a significant amount of money repairing the Governor’s Office when we first arrived in May. Fortunately, we can run from here because we have amenities here (at home).

“This will be done repeatedly until we have addressed numerous issues related to infrastructure and education, health, and hygiene, as well as decaying infrastructure, especially in Aba and other parts of the state.

“We can now confront the Governor’s Office once we are done with it and have some breathing room. It’s not important.

Otti stated that the government had started a number of infrastructure projects in every state stratum with the goal of improving the welfare of the populace and fostering equitable development throughout all Abia areas, while underscoring that his administration is dedicated to improving the lives of the people of Abia State.
