Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, has stated that the 10th National Assembly will help Nigeria’s industrial sector thrive.

During a courtesy call in his office on Wednesday, Akpabio made the promise to the Executive of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, or MAN.

The president of the Senate acknowledged that the country’s economic circumstances were to blame for the manufacturers’ predicament and commended them for their tenacity.

He gave his visitors an explanation of the National Assembly’s cooperative efforts with the government’s executive branch to improve matters, especially in the security and economic domains.

According to Akpabio, “We welcome any formal communications to ensure that you improve on what you are doing and to legislate on issues that affect you, making your work easier.”

It is unnecessary to even bring up the fact that the nation’s manufacturers have suffered as a result of the present power crisis.

You don’t have to bring up how much the pace of inflation has impacted you.

You don’t have to bring up how much the foreign currency rate’s volatility has harmed you. Next, we have the pricing issue. A extremely high cost of manufacturing implies a corresponding increase in the price for consumers. Naturally, you can also wind up with pricey things given Nigerians’ limited earning potential. It might also have an impact on your growth.

“Let me thus express my gratitude to the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and implicitly to the members of the Council for having been able to maintain this association notwithstanding the challenging circumstances.

It goes without saying that we would do everything within our power as a Senate and as a National Assembly to support you.

“To help the industry grow, we look forward to collaborating closely with you, clearing the obstacles in your way, and offering you our support.

We pledge our complete support on behalf of the Senate and the National Assembly as a whole. You must keep up the good work in order to provide jobs for our people and ensure that Nigerians can afford the items they need. This includes addressing the issues of better power, gas availability, and appropriate gas pricing.

The delegation was led by Otunba Francis Meshioye, President of MAN, who had earlier stated that the purpose of the visit was to talk about the manufacturing sector’s current situation and work together to identify areas where legislative support was essential for manufacturers to effectively carry out their long-standing roles in creating jobs and wealth.
