Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa State, has urged traders to stop stockpiling food in order to make money.

The governor voiced his worries about certain traders’ propensity to stockpile food goods, holding onto them until prices surged before selling.

He drew attention to how insensitive such acts are, especially at a time when a lot of people are having difficulty paying for needs.

Governor Sule asked the traders’ organization to inform its members of the detrimental effects of food hoarding, pointing out that these actions worsen the suffering of the general public and lead to food scarcity.

It’s imperative that we band together to support one another. Governor Sule said, “Holding food items until the prices skyrocket and then selling them is inconsiderate.”

He also underlined the moral duty of traders to guarantee that necessities were available and reasonably priced for everyone, especially in light of the pervasive hunger and financial difficulties.

In response, Musa Turaki-Gamji, the president of the Nasarawa State Traders and Marketers Association, reaffirmed the union’s dedication to aiding the government in its attempts to improve the lot of the populace.
