APC leader of Osun tells Tinubu: Form a task team to combat those who sabotage the distribution of grains

President Bola Tinubu has been requested to form a special taskforce to oversee the distribution of the sanctioned 42,000 metric tonnes of cereals from strategic reserves to Nigerians by Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.

In an interview with reporters on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye added that the taskforce’s formation was required to guarantee that the grains reached the intended Nigerian population.

In addition, he noted that in order for the general public to gain from the free grains, the president needed to form a task force to stifle the actions of saboteurs who were eager to profit on Nigerians’ suffering.

However, he stated that a special team should be established to guarantee the grains’ efficient distribution if the president wanted the impoverished Nigerians to experience the impact of the liberated grains.

He claimed that prior experiences had demonstrated that saboteurs’ actions had prevented the Federal Government’s free grains from reaching the targeted Nigerians.

According to Oyintiloye, allowing private individuals to take advantage of the president’s goodwill gesture of providing free grains would be extremely detrimental to both the nation and his efforts.

He praised the president for releasing the grains but added that the distribution process shouldn’t be interrupted by people skilled at undermining government attempts to lessen Nigerians’ suffering.

“There is no denying that there is hunger in the country, but the adversaries of the state should not be allowed to undermine the government’s efforts to minimize the issues.

And for that reason, I’m pleading with the president to form this particular task team in order to outwit those who are holding out to redirect the grains.

“People need food, thus the government’s free grain distribution program needs to reach as many people as possible without getting lost.

He declared, “It will be difficult for anyone, no matter how placed, to have access to diverting the grains with the presidential taskforce in place and with effective monitoring.”

He added that it is a great development that the president’s order for security forces to pursue people who are stockpiling food is starting to have an impact.

He declared that people who were storing food in order to achieve illegitimate advantages would face consequences if they followed this presidential order.

He went on, “The president should keep fighting back against our country’s enemies who are making life intolerable for the average person.”
