Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa praised his late boss, former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Wednesday for bolstering the state’s legal system.

The governor said that the previous governor did not meddle in court matters during a special court session organized in honor of the late Akeredolu at Court 1 of the Ondo State High Court.

Additionally, he praised Akeredolu for strengthening the state’s legal system and for his unshakable dedication to defending the rule of law in the struggle against crimes and criminal activity while he was still living.

According to Aiyedatiwa, “the point was well made to me that of all God’s creations, man has the greatest, singular, and most indomitable capacity to affect the course of history,” during their closest quarters of personal observation and working connection.

“In my honest opinion, man’s superior ability to imagine, discipline, and endure makes this conceivable. My boss was an achiever and a success story in every way. We recall his tenure as the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Ondo State.

“We recall his mental clarity and unanimity in defining his responsibilities and duty as the state’s top law enforcement official. My lord, the story of his outspoken, candid, and unequivocal denunciation of his principal and the military governor of Ondo State will always be remembered for his incursion into the personal space of Papa Michael Adekunle Ajasin, the state’s first civilian governor and the Yoruba leader at the time.

“We have to keep in mind that this was during the hardest and darkest periods of our nation’s military government’s brutality, suppression, and repression.”
