Three interim committee chairs were installed on Saturday by Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia to fill the place of those who were recently dismissed by the House of Assembly.
Governor Alia urged them to demonstrate their worthiness for the trust placed in them by doing their duties in an open and accountable manner.

The Honorable Verlumun Avar of Gboko LGA, Honorable Victor Iorzaa of Ukum LGA, and Honorable Justin Shaku of Katsina Ala LGA have been sworn in as the new caretaker committee chairs.
The Benue State House of Assembly ousted three former council chairs due to mismanagement and embezzlement of internally generated revenue by the local government, as reported by the furucinovel.
Governor Alia stated that their appointments were intended to provide new life to the local government system.

He went on to say that because local government is the third tier of government and plays a significant role in providing social services to the populace, it is essential to the functioning of his administration.
Gov. Alia warned the council chairmen about resource mismanagement and urged them to implement the necessary changes in their respective council districts.
He stated, “Your predecessors’ lack of dedication, commitment, accountability, and transparency caused them to become disengaged.”

Hon. Justin Shaku of Katsina Ala LGA responded on behalf of the recently sworn-in caretaker chairmen, thanking the governor for granting them the opportunity to serve.
