The source of the contentious phone recording of cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has been disclosed by blogger Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan.

While appearing before a House of Representatives panel looking into bribery claims involving the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), he made the revelation public on Monday.

Members of the NCoS and the EFCC were also present as the Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions began their investigation into the blogger’s claims of corruption and bribery against the prison service and the anti-graft agency.

At first, VeryDarkMan sent a lawyer in lieu of Bobrisky, who was also invited but declined to speak to the committee.

But the legislators rebutted his statement and initiated a resolution to force him to speak about the topic of the audio recording he made public.

Despite the committee’s threat to immediately order VeryDarkMan’s arrest by invoking legislative powers, he maintained that his lawyer would testify on his behalf.

The blogger established the legitimacy of the popular audio file by claiming that Bobrisky had got it from a debtor.

In April, following his naira spraying scandal, VeryDarkMan claimed in a video that Bobrisky paid N15 million to have money laundering charges dropped against him. A court then sentenced him to six months in prison.

He went on to say that Bobrisky had paid millions of naira for a preferred prison spot.
