In an appeal for assistance in locating missing Corps member Yahaya Farouk, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, who is also the director of the National Youth Service Corps, has made a collective appeal.
During his visit to the town of Ikuru in the Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State—the host community of the missing Corps member—General Ahmed emphasized the importance of the community’s youth and elders helping the security services in their search for the Corpers.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to always advocating for the safety and well-being of Corps members, while also pointing out that the people living in the communities where members are stationed also have a duty to offer such benefits.
“The core of my visit is to request your assistance in reuniting the Corps member who traveled from another state for National Service,” he stated.
The community has tried extremely hard to find Corps member Yahaya, who went missing while at a Chinese mining company within the community, according to separate responses from the community’s youth president, Mr. Etete Jerb Anthony, and the ward secretary, Mr. Paul Friday, in response to the Director General’s request.

But they assured everyone that rescue operations are not yet over.
