Governor Yusuf gives reassigned commissioners a deadline to turn over power

All commissioners who have been reassigned must finish handing up their duties before Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the end of business, per Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State.

According to a statement released on Sunday by Malam Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson, the cabinet reshuffle would be fully implemented during the next Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

This announcement went on to say that between Monday, December 16th, and Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, all commissioners whose duties will be affected by the revisions are directed to hand over their responsibilities.

To keep government operations running smoothly, the governor emphasized finishing all transition processes before the deadline.

By urging the State Executive Council to remain steadfast in their support of the administration in fulfilling its pledges to the people of Kano State, the governor echoed previous calls for redoubled efforts and cooperation.

In order to fulfill our shared objective of helping the people of Kano, Yusuf emphasized once again, “The spirit of cooperation, dedication and commitment remains crucial.”

The governor has reorganized his cabinet as part of his effort to enhance state administration.

On Thursday, the governor dismissed five commissioners, removed the secretary from her position, and abolished the office of chief staff.
