Although no one died, four people were injured, according to furucinovel.

Fubara, who traveled to the scene of the sad accident and was accompanied by the Commissioner for Special Projects, Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke, tasked the appropriate government departments with questioning individuals involved in the project in order to identify any criminals.

“The Ministry of Urban Development is to take immediate action by conducting site investigations, site inspections, destructive testing, and non-destructive testing of collapsed structural elements by the determination of the yield strength of the reinforcements, and sieve analysis of the soil at the site, to ascertain the immediate and remote causes of the building collapse,” the governor stated.

To act as a deterrence to others, “if there is any compromise by those involved in the project, they will be prosecuted”

The building site is now officially closed as per an order from the Rivers State Government.

The state government also mandated that the building’s construction engineer be detained right away so that a thorough investigation could be conducted.

Additionally, the government issued a warning to everyone working in the state’s building industry to immediately adhere to all applicable rules and regulations because “the Rivers State Government will not condone any deviation from existing laws and regulations in the sector.”

The Governor requested that the public alert the authorities to the alleged unauthorized building activity taking place around the State in a statement released by Tammy Danagogo, Secretary to the State Government.
