Etinosa Idemudia, a Nollywood actress, has admitted that she used drugs as a way to escape her abusive ex-husband.
She said that after getting married at age 22, her ex subjected her to severe domestic abuse to the point that she nearly died.
Thespian Chude Jideonwo revealed this in a conversation with well-known media personality Chude Jideonwo.
She claimed she feared her ex-husband.
It (the domestic violence) reached a point where I was using drugs, according to Etinosa. I starched up and drugged up so that no matter what he says or does, I’m just staring at him whenever he [my ex-husband] comes home. Normally, a lady should be thrilled that her spouse is coming home. merely for the sake of peace.
The Edo-born actress claimed that she ultimately ended the marriage because her husband remained the same despite her constant fasting and prayer.
“I was green, I didn’t know anything,” she remarked. A mumu, I was. When I got married, I was 22. ‘I’m not your friend, I’m your lord,’ my ex-husband remarked to me.
