Aladesuyi, a member of the Onijan dynasty’s Afayagbekun Ruling House, will succeed Oba Samuel Oyewole Fadahunsi, who passed away last year after 19 years in power.
In a letter dated September 20, 2022, and signed by Barr. Adegboyega Morakinyo, Executive Secretary of the Ekiti State Bureau of Chieftaincy Affairs, the government expressed its support.
“I wish to tell you that the Ekiti State Executive Council has accepted the nomination of Prince Adebanji Lawrence Aladesuyi as the next Onijan of Ijan Ekiti,” the letter to the Onijan-in-Council said.
