Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, paid an impromptu visit to Benue State University in Makurdi on Tuesday.
In order to check the facilities for the impending ICT training for 10,000 Benue youth, which is being funded by the Benue state government in collaboration with Google and Microsoft, Gov. Alia was at the state-owned institution.

Tersoo Kula, the Governor’s chief press secretary, said this in a press release.
According to the statement, the governor “discovered that while some of the halls are fully equipped and ready for use with such requirements as air conditioners and dashboards, other halls are not fully equipped for the purpose.” He also received briefings from the institution’s management after inspecting the halls.
In order for the program to start in earnest, Gov. Alia promised that the facilities without the necessary equipment will be completely outfitted in a short amount of time.
