When some okada riders—commercial motorcycle riders—staged a protest against the leaders of their group on Thursday, chaos ensued in Ado Ekiti.
The angry riders blocked off some roadways and important intersections in the town and demanded the resignation of the existing union executives for what they claimed to be acts of corruption, haughtiness, misuse of authority, attacks on coworkers, and misappropriation of funds.

The riders requested Governor Biodun Oyebanji to fire the officials and take over the management of the sector in their conversations with our correspondent.
They said that the association overcharged them for fines while mismanaging the money, and that the management hired some criminals who regularly beat and assault drivers.
They said that one of the criminals shoved a commercial motorcyclist who was moving while carrying a passenger, causing them to fall off the bike and suffer significant injuries.

Later, a group of armed police officers dispersed the protesting okada riders.
While sheltering from a potential attack at the Ijigbo roundabout, some association leaders were spotted, but they choose not to remark on the situation.
