Osun Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sent 1,750 soldiers to patrol the state in an effort to keep the festivities safe and crime-free.

Providing security and round-the-clock surveillance of all important national assets and infrastructure is the goal of the development that is taking place ahead of this year’s Christmas celebrations.

In a statement issued on Thursday, this information was made public by Igbalawole Sotiyo, the commandant of the NSCDC Osun State Command.

The announcement was issued by Commandant Sotiyo, who assured the people of a comprehensive security arrangement in the state.

“All divisional officers in the state have been given a marching order to send personnel to places of worship, marketplaces, recreation centers, and other potential hotspots in the state.

“I further instructed them to coordinate with other sister agencies to ensure that Osun State was adequately protected both during and after the event.”

Additionally, he warned anyone plotting to destabilize society to either reconsider their plans or be prepared to deal with the fallout of their actions.

The head of the Osun NSCDC has asked that the troops sent on this mission have a level head while carrying out their responsibilities.

Additionally, he urged the general people to notify the local security agency of any suspicious activity they may have witnessed.
