Aubameyang is told by an Arsenal veteran “I hope you won’t be successful at Chelsea

Nigel Winterburn, a former player for Arsenal, has expressed his desire for Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang to suffer at Chelsea.

Aubameyang, a former captain of the Arsenal, relocated to London in the summer after Barcelona offered him a £10.3 million transfer fee.

The 1-0 Champions League loss to Dinamo Zagreb marked the Gabon international’s Chelsea debut.

He had a wonderful run at Arsenal, but things soured near the end. Now he must try to rebuild himself at Chelsea, where the season has gotten off to an unusual start.

The question will be if Aubameyang can revert to the 20 Premier League goals a season striker he was at Arsenal.

He will want that, and Chelsea will want that. However, from my perspective, I clearly hope that doesn’t happen because it would mean Chelsea would be moving up the league.

“He has a new manager to win over, and he has this injury to completely recover from, both of which may weigh on his mind.

“We all know what he can do on the field, but as we all know, you might have to juggle the other side of things to make sure he fits into all of the manager’s plans,”
