Hon. Chinedu Eya, a former candidate for the Enugu North Senatorial District, has urged Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State to distribute political seats fairly among all the zones in the state.
The politician offered the guidance in a private letter to the governor that Daily Post was able to get.

Eya, who praised the governor for recently appointing capable people to assist him in directing government operations, noted that care should be taken in how power is distributed to prevent resentments and disaffection among followers.
“While I like to commend you for your recent appointments of competent and intellectually mobile hands into your government, I admit that the zonal spread of the key positions should have been handled differently as no zone should be seen as having more appointees against another zone, as this would cause disaffection and distrust to your government,” he said in his message to Governor Mbah.
We have observed verbal battles break out among many people in our dear zones over the past few days as a result of your recent nominations of the Chief Staff, SPAs, SSAs, and SAs, criticizing their apparent lopsidedness in your approval of appointees.

I’ve also seen firsthand how some people who think they made a huge difference in your victory in the previous election have been ridiculed and called names for supporting you after the list was revealed.
I want to make a sincere request of you, Your Excellency, Sir. In order to give every Tom, Dick, and Harry a fair and just sense of belonging as we get ready to receive another round of appointees into your government, I submit that you distribute these positions across the LGAs and zones of Enugu State. After all, no region or zone can boast of having a monopoly of competent and qualified individuals in the state than the others.
Eya stated that his desire to represent the Enugu North Senatorial zone in the Senate was motivated by his belief in inclusive politics and proper representation.

According to him, this is the reason he was looking for a better platform “through which I will speak, defend, and advance the course of people in my Senatorial District, but without results.”
Please be assured of my sincere compliments and best wishes as we all anticipate a very flourishing Enugu State under your leadership, the letter concluded.
