Todd Boehly, Chelsea’s new co-owner, reportedly lost his cool when he learned that the team had a chance to sign midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer of 2021.
While Tchounameni was at Monaco, Chelsea was rumored to be interested.

But this year’s summer transfer window saw the France international signing with Real Madrid.
In the nine games Real Madrid has played so far this season, the 22-year-old sensation has played 584 minutes.
Following Casemiro’s transfer from Santiago Bernabeu to Manchester United, Tchounameni has contributed two assists for Carlo Ancelotti’s team, integrating well into the group.

Boehly has learned, however, that Chelsea missed the chance to sign Tchouameni last summer for €35 million.
Tchouameni’s ability to contribute right away to the team of former manager Thomas Tuchel was uncertain at the time by Chelsea’s management.
Instead, they decided to recruit Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid on a temporary basis.
