If members of the criminal underworld in the country do not give up their weapons, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has warned them that they will be eradicated from the population.
This warning was delivered by General Lagbaja on Friday at the Nigerian Army Training Centre in Kachia, Kaduna State. The occasion was the graduation of 654 combat-ready troops from the fifth iteration of the Exercise Restore Hope.

The Chief of Staff of the Army has stated that the Army will continue on its current path of providing young soldiers with training to improve their fighting skills.
He added that the primary goal of the training was to improve the soldiers’ preparedness to deal with the various threats to national security that could arise anywhere in the country.
He stated that the Nigerian Army would create highly skilled and competent people for operational engagements in all theaters if it received training that was targeted, adaptive, and effective.

The purpose of the training, which is called “Exercise Restore Hope V,” is to acclimate individuals who have recently graduated from the Depot of the Nigerian Army to the difficulties presented by the ever-evolving nature of the threats that exist inside Nigeria’s security environment.
He admonished them to prove themselves worthy of the massive investment that had been made in them by eradicating the threats to security in the various locations across the nation where they were stationed.
He brought to their attention the importance of collaborating with other security authorities in the area in order to ensure efficient service delivery.
“Exercise Restore Hope” is an advanced training exercise for infantry cum special forces aimed to further strengthen the capabilities of young soldiers.
