Okpolupm Etteh, a member of the House Committee on University Education and the Deputy Chairman of the OACPS-EU collaborative Parliamentary Assembly, has demanded the establishment of new collaborative institutions among the member states of the OACAPS and the EU.
The legislator made the request at the end of the inaugural session of the OACPS-EU Consultative meeting in Luanda, Angola, with the topic, “A New Dawn in OACPS-EU Relations: Towards a People-Led Partnership,” according to a statement released on Saturday by his Media Unit.

At the opening of the new joint institutions, Etteh, a lawmaker from Akwa Ibom State’s Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, expressed hope that the state’s lawmakers will work together more effectively to carry out their parliamentary duties.
In addition, he marked the signing of the Samoa Agreement on November 15, 2023, which superseded the Lomé Convention of 1975 and the Cotonou Agreement of 2000.
On the other hand, he did mention that Nigeria is one of the few nations that has not yet signed the Samoa pact.

“The launch of new joint institutions for effective collaboration among regional parliaments is being considered by members of the OACPS-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly as a result of this event.” He spoke.
