Following unanticipated disputes in Yobe’s Fika and Gujba Local Government Areas, Governor Buni shown exceptional leadership by establishing committees dedicated to resolving problems promptly.
As a result of this proactive strategy, committees made up of farmers, herders, members of the royal family, security personnel, and others were established with the responsibility of determining the underlying reasons of the episodes and averting them in the future.

The importance of peace and harmony in the state was emphasized in Governor Buni’s orders to Local Government Chairmen to organize similar committees in their respective districts.
In response, a sensitization program has been launched by the Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) to support peaceful coexistence between its members and surrounding communities.
Furthermore, it was the responsibility of traditional rulers to arrange security meetings in order to maintain peace within their own territories. Aiming to preserve harmony and stability, stakeholders such as community leaders, heads of Farmers and Herders associations, and security officers have been actively participating in talks.

KACRAN commends Governor Buni for his commitment to conflict resolution and urges other governors around the country to take aggressive steps of a similar nature in settling disputes between farmers and herders.
Bello stated that disputes between farmers and herders in Nigeria will end if Buni’s proactive strategy is replicated throughout the several states.
