In order to succeed at the difficult task of running the state, according to Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, it has become essential to adopt a spiritual outlook.
He made this statement on Sunday at the state’s Interdenominational Solemn Assembly, which was hosted at the Calabar International Conference Centre (CICC) for the first time.

He insisted that running the state’s affairs is a difficult endeavor.
“Managing the state’s affairs is a difficult endeavor. To advance the state, we must look for the face and guidance of the Author of wisdom.
“Neither I nor the representatives you choose will be able to complete this task on our own. To create the state of our dreams, we must all work together, he stated.

As he repositioned the state, he exhorted everyone to follow him on the path of a spiritual renaissance, saying that there would be enough for everyone to profit from without tearing their brother down.
“Now is the time to create the state. For me, leaving a lasting impression on history after my service is what matters most.
“The State is a country of wealth, and the time has come to collectively harness the resources that God has provided to the state’s three senatorial districts for the benefit of our people.

“I can plainly see the rush of nations and investors returning to our state through our prayer today.
“Let me remind people who have the chance to be elected or appointed that power belongs to God. You are not in this position to oppress others but to sincerely serve them, and I will not hold back in removing anyone who behaves in a manner that contravenes to that.
“Let me reassure you that I haven’t changed and that I won’t be swayed by anything, not even the fact that I’m your governor. I am not intoxicated by power because I think that power should be used for good. It is quite fleeting. Remember that another individual will occupy the same workplace where you currently work in no time at all, he remarked.
