Defence minister Matawalle addresses retired military officers: Nigeria needs your expertise experience

Bello Matawalle, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, says retired military officers’ expertise and experience are still needed to address security issues.

Matawalle revealed this at a Saturday dinner in Abuja hosted by the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 38 Regular Course Welfare Association in honor of Gen. Christopher Musa.

He stated their military experience would be useful in other areas of life.

He stated that the nation required professionals and experts to use their expertise and experience to solve its many problems.

He expects them to have time to think and propose solutions without interruption.

“I encourage you to critically brainstorm on the country’s challenges to find workable solutions.

I want to assure you that the Ministry of Defence is always ready to accept you as a group of expert thinkers to discuss defence and security issues in our country.

“In light of the immense training and experience of these eminent gentlemen and highly exposed security professionals, we will ensure your retirement is pleasant and we will continue to prioritize your welfare at the Ministry of Defence,” he added.

The minister said all must work to advance the nation, adding that God had given Nigeria with competent military officers.
