Family of kidnapped man recounts ordeal says “the government and the police abandoned us

The Enugu State Government and the Police were both accused by the family of a man whose body was abducted along with his relatives while being transported from Lagos to Nsukka of having abandoned them during their ordeal.

The relatives expressed their confusion regarding the behavior of the federal, state, and local governments as well as the security forces in Nigeria.

The three family members who had been held captive with the body were finally released, and this statement was made afterward.

According to furucinovel, Mr. Ugwuanyi Israel was abducted near Umuoka in Udi Local Government area of Enugu State while being transported from Lagos to his hometown. He was from Ameze Owerre, Umabor community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Several members of the kidnappers’ family were also abducted during the hijacking.

Mr. Collins Ugwuanyi, the deceased’s older brother, has spoken out against what he claims is a lack of empathy on the part of the Nigerian police and the administration of Enugu State for the abducted victims in a statement obtained by furucinovel.

The federal, state, and local governments of Nigeria, as well as their security forces, police, army, forest guards, etc., continue to perplex us.

Despite the fact that safeguarding citizens’ lives and property should be their top priority, the government has completely disregarded us. Even between ourselves, we were nearly deserted. A merciful God, he prayed.

Ugwuanyi claimed that despite widespread media coverage of the abduction, neither Governor Peter Mbah nor the chairman of the Nsukka Local Government, Walter Ozioko, had made any attempt to contact the family about the matter.
