On Wednesday at around 10:30 am, members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State, shot and killed a suspected kidnapper at Easy Gate Farm on the Abanla Ogunmakin road in Ibadan.
On Thursday, the state Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, announced this via the command’s PR representative, DSC Oyindamola Okuneye.

Adaralewa claims that eight suspected kidnappers attempted to abduct the farm’s foreign owner after breaking into the property but were repelled by NSCDC agents.
This sparked a gunfight in which one of the kidnappers was fatally shot while the others managed to flee with gunshot wounds.
He recalled how on June 1, when the alleged kidnappers broke into the same farm, one of the NSCDC employees was shot in a gunfight.

The commandant encouraged the people of the state to work with all security forces by providing accurate information on anything they could observe happening while praising the brave efforts of his staff.
In order to apprehend more wounded members of the kidnapping group, he further urged the locals to alert the NSCDC or other security authorities if they saw anyone with gunshot wounds.
Adaralewa pleaded with the crowd, “If you see anything, please say something. We are here to defend you.”
