Within his first 100 days in office, Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration completed the renovation of seven township roads in Ado Ekiti.
The information was revealed by Sunday Komolafe, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, while monitoring finished and ongoing road restoration work across the capital.
The renovated roads, according to Komolafe, include Matthew Street, Mugbagba Street, Ijigbo Roundabout, Atikankan, and Olukayode Stadium- Okuta Gbokutalori-Old Garage route. Other roads include the Atikankan-Isato Oke-Sadiat Hotel route, the Basiri Road, the Adebayo Road, and the Oke Bola access road.
Mr Komolafe praised the governor of Ekiti State for his efforts to make life easier for commuters and other road users, saying the roads will help the public carry out their daily routines and prevent accidents.
He stated that the ministry was working around the clock to guarantee that the contractors met specifications and exceeded expectations. He said that the current administration has zero tolerance for poor workmanship, emphasizing that the ministry does not allow for the use of substandard materials, which serves as the foundation for rigorous monitoring and oversight of the projects.
He also stated that certain ongoing projects, including as the Agric Olope-Moferere-Odo Ado road, the GRA 3rd Extension road, the Oke Ila-Housing Corporation road, the Oja Oba-Post Office-Palace road, and Oladele Street at Awedele, will be completed soon.
