Interministerial committee on the Osun Airport Project is established by Adeleke

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has launched an interministerial committee to revitalize the Osun airport.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing the Osun Airport Project as a means of accelerating the state’s economic development.

Dr. Bashiru Salami, the Commissioner for Special Duties, is in charge of the project.

This information was released by the governor on Tuesday in Osogbo in a statement that was signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

“As everyone is aware, there has been much debate around the project. I’m committed to finding the solution and building Osun a respectable airport. Regrettably, Osun is the only South West state without an airport.

“We must fix the connectivity issue if we want to kickstart our economy. Osun deserves a flight link since it is a well-endowed mineral state with two free trade zones and numerous tertiary institutions.

“My team made the reasonable assumption that building an airport would hasten Osun state’s economic recovery. To examine the complete project, design, and ensure the plan’s implementation and actualization, I do, however, want a detailed technical plan.

“I put together the members of this interministerial group to address all necessary topics. You must analyze the history, create plans for the now, and put them into action for the future. The Osun state government has given you the authority to request contributions from all pertinent stakeholders. Not only must you pinpoint the issues, but you must also give workable answers.

I also take advantage of this occasion to encourage collaborators and other project participants to work with this standing committee. The political will to get this initiative forward exists inside our government. The governor stated, “I need committee members to be creative and come up with proposals for a sustainable dual purpose airport.

The statement further stated that Salami, the committee’s chairman, gave the governor assurances that the members were ready to work hard to see the assignment through.
