It’s nothing out of the ordinary—Jesus speaks up about his confrontation with Ederson from Manchester City

Gabriel Jesus, a striker for Arsenal, has spoken out about his altercation with Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson in the wake of the Gunners’ recent landmark victory over the Premier League champions last weekend. Jesus made his comments after the match.

To refresh your memory, Gabriel Martinelli scored the game-winning goal for Arsenal in the 86th minute of their match against Pep Guardiola’s team at Emirates Stadium to give them a 1-0 victory.

After the game had ended, tensions finally came to a head when Arsenal’s set-piece coach Nicolas Jover got into an altercation with the Manchester City combo of Kyle Walker and Erling Haaland.

In the meantime, Jesus, who recently left Manchester City in order to sign with Arsenal in the summer of 2022, got involved in a scuffle with Ederson, his former club teammate, during stoppage time. The goalkeeper knocked his fellow Brazilian compatriot to the ground for wasting too much time.

Both players received cautions for their involvement in the altercation, but Jesus has attempted to downplay the altercation after meeting up with Ederson on international duty for Brazil’s national team.

“I have a positive relationship with a lot of people, not just Ederson. But it’s nothing out of the ordinary out there,” Jesus said to the reporters when they asked him about the altercation he had with Ederson.

On the field of play, though, he protects his team, while I defend mine. It was a point in the game in which we were victorious, and beating them was not an easy task.

“At that point, we were ahead, and I was holding on to the ball. In any case, he ended up giving me a push, but everything went back to normal after that. We got together and had a conversation. That concludes it”
