Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI, asked for adequate compensation for the families of the 47 cattle herders slain in Nassarawa State on Friday.
According to the furucinovel, around 47 herders were killed by a hovering drone in Kwatiri village, a border hamlet between Benue and Nasarawa, while offloading their released animals impounded by the Benue Livestock Guards after paying a fine.

In a statement issued in Kaduna, the Secretary-General of JNI, Dr Khalid Abubakar-Aliyu, said the Sultan denounced the death and urged the federal government to promptly apprehend the perpetrators.
The group cautioned the government not to brush the tragedy under the rug, saying that the attack was designed to instill terror in farmers and herders in Nasarawa State.
The statement expressed solidarity with the government and people of Nasarawa State in the gruesome massacre of over 40 innocent Fulani herders in Nasarawa State’s Doma Local Government Area, following the slaughter of hundreds of cows by unidentified persons with no intervention from the area’s security forces.

The group advised visiting the families of the deceased and sympathizing with them, saying that a nationwide broadcast following the visit would be highly vital to deter retaliation, as people are outraged over numerous recent events involving innocent defenseless people.
