Legendary Chelsea player John Terry claims that Jose Mourinho threatened to fire him and his defense partner Gary Cahill from Stamford Bridge if they did not step up their performance in practice.
Terry recalled his first practice of Mourinho’s second tenure at the club after his appointment as manager in 2013.

Mourinho returned to Chelsea after his remarkable first tenure at Stamford Bridge, where he won two Premier League championships for the team between 2004 and 2007.
The Portuguese later helped the west London team win its third championship in 2015. Terry revealed what his former manager said to him at practice on Chelsea’s official website.

“In the first practice, Gaz and I frequently lost the ball. He threatened to go out and purchase (Raphael) Varane and two more big defenders if we persisted.
At the time, Varane was one of the hottest defenders in Europe, breaking through at Real Madrid as a young, talented player.
