Journalist Villian Murray departs from Adamawa NUJ

Villian Murray, a colleague of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa State Council, passed away.

Following a brief illness, Murray, an active member of the union, particularly at the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) level, was reported to have passed away in Yola.

Murray worked for Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Yola prior to her death, according to a statement issued by Council Secretary Fidelis Jockthan.

“She passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2024, following a brief illness,” the statement read.

The late Villian Vigor Murray worked as a correspondent for her station (ABC Yola) covering the Office of the Deputy Governor at Government House in Yola until her death.

At one point in her life, she held the position of Vice Chairperson of NAWOJ Adamawa State, demonstrating her involvement in unionism.

The late Villian also ran for the position of Zonal VP, Northeast (NAWOJ) at the 10th Triennial National Delegates Conference, which took place in Minna, Niger State, on November 14, 2020.

Before she died away in the evening on Saturday, the State Council paid her a visit in the afternoon.

The Murray family, the management of ABC Yola, NAWOJ, the Church, and her major duty, the Office of the Deputy Governor at Government House, Yola, were all comforted by the Council during this trial.

“To keep our members updated on the burial plans, the state leadership of our wonderful union is in communication with the family.

“The Council also requests prayers for our late great member’s soul to rest.”
