The National GBV Dashboard received 500 Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases from the Kaduna State Government, five of which were prosecuted by September.
The UNFPA State Sub-Implementing Partner Coordinator at the state’s Planning and Budget Commission (PBC), Jamilu Ladan, told NAN in Kaduna on Sunday.

PBC Programme Officer Ladan said other development partners and GBV CSOs helped achieve the feat.
As the state was initially delayed in reporting incidents to the national dashboard, he called the endeavor a milestone.
Although five GBV cases were prosecuted, Kaduna State was among the top states in reporting 500 cases by September.

Dr. Elvis Evborein, UNFPA Kaduna’s Reproductive Health Analyst, said GBV was a multisectoral deliverable including CSOs, government agencies, and other partners.
UNFPA helped the state government develop a GBV Technical Working Group to coordinate GBV response stakeholders, according to Evborein.
He wants a united front to achieve goals.

He said the Fund has supported the technical working group’s quarterly meetings to examine sector developments, document results, and solve problems.
“This partnership is mostly for prevention to raise awareness that beating women and psychosocial abuse violate women’s rights.
Young girls, children, and men are included.
We are dispelling falsehoods and sending GBV survivors to resources to address these detrimental social norms.
“We are also supporting the referral pathway mechanisms available in all communities across the state,” she said.
