Taraba State’s Governor Agbu Kefas has reaffirmed his administration’s willingness to reform the judiciary.
He made the commitment while hosting the members of the third branch of the government in the Exco Chambers of the Government House in Jalingo, the state capital.

His administration, he claimed, will also provide the judiciary with the resources it needs to operate efficiently, in addition to restoring and renovating the state’s many dilapidated courts.
In the past, judges, magistrates, and other senior members of the judiciary used to walk to their offices, but the governor predicted that this would soon change.
He stated that this will be accomplished by providing the authorities with transportation, lodging, and other essential logistics.

He gave the judges the go-ahead to file an official complaint with his office right away in order for this to be carried out.
The judges are willing to work with the government, according to Justice Filibus Joel Agye, the state’s acting chief judge, who spoke on behalf of the justices and listed the difficulties facing the judicial branch of the government.
He listed a number of issues that have been hurting the judiciary, including outdated courtrooms, a lack of official vehicles for judges, and an inadequate annual vacation stipend.

The governor’s efforts to direct the rapid release of operating funds to the judiciary and the other ministries, departments, and agencies were also praised by the speaker.
