The World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Director General, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, responded to Nigerians’ critiques of the photos he took in Paris, France, on Saturday.

Okonjo-Oweala had published a photo of himself in which Bola Tinubu’s face was obscured.

The picture was shot by the WTO director general during the summit for “A New Global Financing Pact,” which was called by Emmanuel Macron, the president of France.

As the globe quickens the pace of the energy revolution and the urgency of tackling the pressing concerns of poverty and climate change, the summit gave Tinubu the chance to express his advocacy for expanding the fiscal space, economic justice for Africa, and the necessity of doing so on a global scale.

The image had caused a great deal of debate among Nigerians.

In response to the uproar, Okonjo-Oweala advised Nigerians to calm down.

The former finance minister claimed in a tweet that the dispute has shown how divided Nigeria has become.

Okonjo-Iweala says Nigerians should unwind. Re: Paris, both sides’ attacks were amusing. This tragically demonstrates how deeply divided our society is.

“I upload pictures in the order that accompanist staff or colleagues send them to me. It is inappropriate to infer more from it. Come together to strengthen our nation, not to wage war.
