The Department of State Services (DSS) said that Godwin Emefiele, the previous governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was being defended by IPOB attorney Maxwell Okpara.
DSS referred to Okpara as a “charge-and-bail lawyer” on Tuesday after he filed contempt charges against Yusuf Bichi, its Director-General, regarding Emefiele’s extended imprisonment.

The secret police claimed in a series of tweets that the IPOB/ESN lawyer leading the team of attorneys who filed the charges against Bichi was excessive and ignorant.

Bichi was charged with contempt by a group of attorneys for the DSS’s failure to release Emefiele in spite of many court rulings and directives.
