Merson predicts that the side that will win the championship next season will not be Chelsea

Legendary Arsenal player Paul Merson made a prediction about who would win the Premier League championship the next year.

Merson predicts that Manchester City will once again win the Premier League championship and that Chelsea will not place in the top four.

Remember that Chelsea ended in the bottom part of the Premier League table while Manchester City won the league title the previous year.

“Manchester City is my favorite to win the Premier League, bar none. It might be challenging for them this season with Kyle Walker leaving and Gundogan gone,” Merson observed, as cited by Sportskeeda.

Arsenal might challenge them, but [Manchester] City’s reserve is very strong.

Declan Rice must adapt to Arsenal’s style. Compared to what he is used to at West Ham and in England, they move the ball around a lot quicker.

“Whether Manchester United can sign Harry Kane will determine a lot of things. If they do, they will be fierce competitors for the Premier League championship. If not, they will continue to compete for a spot among the top four.

There is still too much work to be done, in my opinion, for Chelsea to crack the top four. They have a very uneven team.

“At the moment, Manchester City’s own complacency is the only thing that could prevent them from winning the Premier League title. They have the strongest team and ought to be able to retain their title.
