Tragically, at Saturday’s traditional rice-sharing event in Okija, Anambra State, a stampede killed dozens of people. The Obijackson Foundation has conveyed its deepest regret over this incident.
The foundation has stated its intention to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the stampede in order to ascertain its origin and, perhaps, put an end to such tragedies in the future.
Tragically, a stampede took lives and devastated numerous families at the event, which had been a beloved Christmas tradition meant to help the less fortunate.
A true labor of love, the Annual Rice Sharing event seeks to alleviate suffering and bring happiness to individuals in need. It is indescribably tragic that it caused such loss of life.
We promise to conduct a comprehensive investigation into what happened and to put in place stronger safety protocols to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
