The advisory committee was called a sham by the irate traders.
Adetunji Sikiru Adetunji, the president of the Coalition of Oyo State Market Youth Forum, spoke on behalf of his colleagues and stated that the traders would not permit the advisory council to continue.
Adetunji claimed that the merchants advisory council established by the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, is a hoax when interacting with journalists in Ibadan.

He declared, “We would not permit the merchants advisory council established by Engr Seyi Makinde to continue. It is a sham. Since we are business owners, it is improper to group our associations with those of bricklayers, musicians, canteen operators, and furniture dealers for political reasons.
We are familiar with people who are members of trade associations, our leaders, and those who own businesses in our marketplaces. It is hard to let outsiders take over our company, especially when all they want to do is exploit our connections to con politicians who are desperately trying to buy votes, and they also want to deceive unsuspecting traders into asking for fictitious loans after paying nonrefundable fees.
“Following the investigation into the conduct of each advisory council member, the government and the general public will be aware of the reasons why the Oyo State Market Advisory Council should be dissolved, which will undoubtedly put an end to the crisis affecting the trade associations in Oyo State.

Abass fraudulently persuading late Olubadan of Ibadanland to make him Babaloja-General, which a state high court in Ibadan had recently nullified and warned Y. K Abass not to parade himself as Babaloja-
“We have likewise elected and inaugurated Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje as Iyaloja-General of Oyo State before the rebellions and saboteurs collaborated with enemies from outside to destabilize the state with their illegal campaigning for unknown candidate, Princess Azeezat Folasade Nurudeen, who never had any shop in the state nor engage in any business activity in the state.”
